Board Member
He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Doane University with a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Columbia University in the City of New York, and a bachelor’s degree from Doane University, United States. He earned a diploma from the Executive Development Program of Cornell University, Johnson School of Management, United States. He has taken courses in leadership, administration, and finance, in management development programs at prestigious institutions such as the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania and the Management Development Center, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, among others.
He worked for the Panama Canal Authority for 38 years. During his last years at the Panama Canal, he served as Executive Manager of the Purchasing, Warehousing, and Inventories Division. In addition, during his career, he held the following positions:
Public Services Section Manager of the Maintenance Division
Exterior Maintenance Section Manager of the Maintenance Division
Construction Division Manager
Maintenance Division Manager
Contracting Division Manager
Upon retirement, the Panama Canal Authority recognized him with its Distinguished Service Award.
He was president of the Society of Friends of the Afro Antillean Museum of Panama (SAMAAP) and a member of its board of directors. He was president of the National Black Council (CONEN) and, as such, a member of the commission that prepared, and steered to approval, the proposal that resulted in Law 64 of December 6, 2016, creating the National Secretariat for Afro-Panamanians Development (SENADAP).
He was president of The Dedicators, whose objective was to raise scholarship funds for financially needy university students, in addition to being a member for more than 25 years.
He was a founding member of the board of directors of the Panamanian Tennis Federation.
Mr. Sanchez joined the Board of Directors of the Panama Canal Authority on October 11, 2019
