Roberto Ábrego Torres

Roberto Ábrego is a founding partner of the law firm Rubio, Álvarez, Solís & Ábrego. He was elected deputy of the Republic of Panama for the period 2019-2024.

Mr. Ábrego has held the following positions: Legislator of the Republic of Panama for the period 1999-2004. Chairman of the Credentials Committee and member of the Internal Justice, Regulations and Judicial Affairs Committees of the Legislative Assembly for the period 2000 – 2001. Legislator of the Republic of Panama for the period 1994 – 1999. Chairman of the Government and Justice and Constitutional Affairs Committee of the Legislative Assembly, for the 1994 – 1999 period. He served as Secretary General in the Colon Free Zone, Secretary General and Legal Counsel to the Ministry of Housing, Legal Advisor to the Mayor of Panama City and Legal Advisor to the Comptroller General of the Republic of Panama.

Mr. Ábrego has a degree in Law and Political Science from the University of Panama.

Mr. Ábrego serves as consultant to companies in the commercial and corporate field. He is a senior member of the Inter-American Federation of Lawyers, a member of the National Bar Association of Panama and the Ibero-American Bar Association (UIBA). Suited to serve as Senior Judge of the Supreme Court of Justice through Resolution No.771 of December 29, 2004.

On April 13, 2020, he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Panama Canal Authority.
