Moreover, Mr. Alem\u00e1n Zubieta underscored that ports should be prepared for the waterway&#8217;s expansion, as anticipating future infrastructure needs is critical to their growth.<\/p>\n<p>Ports America Chief Commercial Officer Peter Stone, Ceres Terminals Inc. President\/CEO Thomas J. Simmers and Port of New Orleans President\/CEO Gary LaGrange also served as panelists and shared their insights at the session. Hosted by the Port of Miami and attended by more than 4,000 industry executives, SeaCargo Americas focuses on enhancing and growing the maritime industry in the Americas.<\/p>\n<p>Expansion will build a new lane of traffic along the Panama Canal through the construction of a new set of locks. The project will double Canal capacity and allow more traffic and the passage of longer and wider ships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Panama Canal Authority (ACP)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe ACP is the autonomous agency of the Government of Panama in charge of managing, operating and maintaining the Panama Canal.
