Diego Herrera Dutari

Mr. Herrera Dutari holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and of Political Science from the Universidad Santa María La Antigua in Panama. He also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Tulane University in the United States and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Central American Institute of Business (INCAE) in Costa Rica.

He is a lawyer at Galindo, Arias & López and has advised multinational and national companies in the financial, industrial, and public telecommunications sectors. He contributed to the drafting of legislation that promoted call centers for commercial use.

He is known for his work on the legal teams of some of the largest mergers and acquisitions of companies and banks in Panama and Latin America. He also advises on significant public tenders in Panama.

Notably, Herrera Dutari led the team that advised the Panama Canal Authority on all legal aspects of the Canal Expansion Project.

He is also a fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership Network of the Aspen Institute. He is Secretary of the Board of Directors of the National Association for the Conservation of Nature (ANCON); a member of the Board of Directors of INCAE Business School; president of the National Committee of INCAE Business School of Panama; a member of the Development Committee of the Biomuseo; co-founder and curator of the Global Shapers Community in Panama, an initiative of the World Economic Forum; and co-founder and member of the Board of Directors of Venture Club, Panama’s first angel investor network.

He took office as a member of the Panama Canal Authority’s Board of Directors on June 20, 2025.
