PANAMA CANAL ADMINISTRATOR/CEO BRIEFS PANAMANIAN PRESIDENT ON PROJECT DEVELOPMENTS 

PANAMA CITY, Panama – On April 28, 2008 Panama Canal Authority (ACP) Administrator/CEO Alberto Alemán Zubieta and Minister of Canal Affairs Dani Kuzniecky gave Panamanian President Martín Torrijos an exclusive tour through the Canal expansion site located on Paraiso Hill.

Joined by some members of ACP’s board of directors, President Torrijos observed machinery being utilized for the Expansion Program. Special ordered trucks and dredgers of significant dimensions have been brought to the country to work on the project.

To date, Paraiso Hill has been reduced to 72 meters from its original elevation of 136 meters. It will ultimately be brought down to 46 meters.
