LoTSA 2.5

Navigating the Future

LoTSA 2.5 builds on this evolution, delivering greater flexibility, smarter planning, and enhanced value, designed to keep your operations moving with confidence in a dynamic market.

 

LoTSA 2.5 is structured over a six (6)-month period.

 

Second Cycle:

  • Sealed bids must be submitted on April 28, 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (Panama time).
  • For booking period from July 5, 2026, through January 2, 2027.

 

Revisions of LoTSA 2.5:

  • Slot redistribution will be managed according to the package type and transit direction.
  • Sequential sealed-bid competitions will be conducted in 30-minute cycles, organized by package type.
  • LNG and LPG vessels will be allowed to submit requests for Transit in Advance. Approvals shall be subject to operational feasibility, with priority maintained for container vessels
  • Full Container vessels may defer their slots to the following month. For LNG, LPG, and other market segments, vessels are allowed a maximum of four (4) slots per month, which include reserved, deferred, or advanced slots.
  • An increased number of change date requests will be allowed, subject to applicable charges.

 

Benefits:

  • Enhanced flexibility for modern maritime operations management: LoTSA 2.5 allows customers to adjust their transit dates efficiently and in alignment with operational market realities. Depending on the package type, one or two date changes are permitted at no cost, provided ACP-established deadlines are met.
  • Ability to defer slots to maximize logistical efficiency: The program incorporates a clear framework for deferring transit dates when logistical rescheduling is required.
  • Operational advancements to take advantage of market windows: LoTSA 2.5 allows transit dates to be advanced through regulated processes that provide agility and certainty.
  • Smart cancellations: Cancellations made at least 15 days in advance will incur a charge of 80% of the awarded bid price.
  • Flexibility to adjust transit direction: Greater capacity to make direction changes within packages, enabling more efficient and adaptable transit planning aligned with operational needs.
