
Rubén Gustavo Pérez Pinzón assumed office as Acting Deputy Administrator of the Panama Canal on September 7, 2026, following his appointment by the Board of Directors through Resolution ACP-JD-RM 26-1665, dated August 26, 2026. He will serve in this capacity until the process to select and appoint the new Deputy Administrator is completed.
Pérez Pinzón has 35 years of experience with the Panama Canal, where he has developed an extensive career in talent management, maritime operations, and organizational development. Prior to assuming the role of Acting Deputy Administrator, he served as Vice President for Human Capital.
Throughout his career, he has led areas related to recruitment, training, occupational health and safety, talent management, and maritime operations. He has also participated in collective bargaining negotiations and dialogue processes with labor organizations.
He has served as manager of Human Capital and Transit Resources, in addition to holding leadership positions in Maritime Transportation and Deck Assistance. In these roles, he has contributed to workforce succession planning and other matters related to the sustainability and continuity of Canal operations.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Universidad Católica Santa María La Antigua, a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Louisville, and a Master of Business Administration from INCAE Business School. His executive education includes INCAE’s Executive Development Program and the General Management Program at Wharton Executive Education, University of Pennsylvania.
