The Panama Canal has published Amendment No. 3 to the Prequalification Document for the Energy Corridor initiative, as part of the process being carried out to select the future concessionaire.

The prequalification stage of this initiative began with the publication of the Prequalification Document on January 30, 2026, and was subsequently updated through Amendment No. 1, published on March 27, 2026, and Amendment No. 2, published on May 29, 2026.

The publication of the Prequalification Document, the clarifications period, the issuance of amendments, and deadline extensions are part of the mechanisms established under the Concessions Regulation of the Panama Canal Authority, which facilitate interaction between interested parties and the organization. The documentation submitted by participants will be evaluated in accordance with the technical, financial, and legal criteria defined in the prequalification document and its respective amendments.

The Energy Corridor initiative seeks to strengthen the country’s logistics and energy connectivity while creating opportunities for companies interested in contributing to the development of capabilities that complement the Panama Canal. The proposal responds to trends in international trade and transportation of energy products and contributes to strengthening the country’s competitiveness and long-term strategic vision.
